Why I love feedback...

Hi, folks...

Well, the verdict is in: The new product rocks. At least for

the folks who've gotten it so far. ;)

If you haven't got a copy yet, trust me: This is one to have.

I call it the "Profit Plan System," but that's sort of a

placeholder name. It fits, but it doesn't begin to tell the

story.

....

The feedback is consistently positive, but for all sorts of

different reasons.

Some folks are excited about the listbuilding aspect, which

isn't surprising. There's a ton of that in here, including 162

ways to get subscribers and affiliates, build your network, and

generally increase your reach within your market.

Some people are excited about the launch process. Others love

the way it helps them get things clear in their minds. A few

have remarked about finding options they'd never considered.

One fellow told me he'd have paid twice the price just to get

one of the unadvertised bonuses. And the list goes on.

The two themes that kept coming up were also interesting. The

first is the usefulness of the thing. That's not surprising, as

it was built to be flexible and reasonably comprehensive, while

letting people trim it down to fit their exact situation.

The second was ... different. This is where the marketing

lessons come in for this email...

Nearly everyone who commented was surprised by the product.

It's not a course, although there are a couple included. It's

not a listbuilding product, despite the rather extensive

information and training on that subject. It's not a static

checklist, despite the large array of tips and ideas in the

mindmap.

It's a sort of reverse creation. Most maps are made based on

existing territory. This one is set up to let you create the

map, from the 30,000 foot view, and then turn the terrain it

describes into reality.

The specific tips and techniques are useful in their own

right, mind you. If you want to build a list or Facebook group

or whatever, this can be a huge help. But that's just the

example I used to illustrate the important part of the thing.

The ability to put everything in one place, and be able to zoom

in and out on the details. To look at the overall plan and

structure for your business, or to zero in on the specific

tasks and tactics that make up each small part.

That's what surprised people.

Everything the description promises is in there, but the

biggest component was still unexpected.

People love a pleasant surprise. Try to build one into your

next product.

....

The second lesson isn't any more revolutionary, but it's one

that can make a difference.

Despite the profit potential in the reports and guides, the

most commonly mentioned part is the mindmap. Once people

started digging into it, they got excited. It connects the

steps to your own experience.

When you do that, things change.

Using the mindmap is unlike just looking at one that's been

saved as a PDF. Those can be very useful, but they lack the

impact of a tool you can adapt and make your own.

Find a way to let your customers make your product their own.

Watch how much more they get out of it, and how excited they

are when they see the results.

That's a great feeling, for both of you.

....

Here's the third lesson: Pay attention to your feedback. Not

just the critiques, but also the emotional content. That will

tell you if you're connecting with your customers, and that

is everything in a "cold" medium like the Internet.

When people are excited, you've done something right.

Not to mention the improvements you can make to your products

from it. I've already added one module to the product that's

not mentioned in the description, based on a suggestion from

a customer. And I'm working on another.

Two simple ideas that really add a lot to the value you get

from it. That kind of feedback is priceless.

....

Seriously. Check this thing out.

Oh... and to answer the most commonly asked question... No.

This is not just an updated version of my earlier product,

called "The Map." This is a whole new thing. It includes some

parts from other products, yes, but the core elements are new.

And this is the first time I've let my (nearly complete) list

of 162 ways to get subscribers out into the wild. ;)

Enjoy!

Paul
